When making payments through the Back Office, the CVV and zip code are not required when the user is using an EMV device or a card swiper. This is due to the fact that we know the card was physically there and the magnetic strip/chip was used as verification.
We also do not require that the user enter the CVV and/or Zip Code when processing a credit card manually but we do recommend that it is included so that we can add an additional layer of security for the cardholders.
When a patient is making a payment on the Patient Experience they will be required to include the CVV and/or Zip Code.
