Yes, they can. The patients can sign up for Paperless Billing in the Notification Settings. They no longer need to call Customer Service to switch off Paper Statements or pay a bill (and tick off the “Paperless” option).
In the Bills Page the patient needs to access Notification Settings to bring up the pop-up screen with the available options. They can do so by selecting the following:
After this they will see a pop-up that shows what emails they have in the system. In addition to this the patient will see two sections:
- Email Alerts
- Paperless Billing
The patient can add multiple email addresses to both, Email Alerts and Paperless Billing. The primary email address on file cannot be deleted.
In the Paperless Billing section, the default setting will be OFF as the email address needs to be verified prior to activating Paperless Billing. If the patient switches Paperless to ON, Simplee will send a verification email.
After the email address is verified, the status of the Paperless Billing function is set to ON and the patient will receive paperless statements to that email address. Each email address needs to be activated separately.
In order to receive Paperless Billing, the patient needs to be signed up for both, Email Alerts and Paperless Billing. If they switch off Email Alerts for the email on Paperless Billing - the warning message will appear to let them know they will be switching off Paperless Billing as well.
